Project

Hamburg School District

Hamburg Public Schools has over 400,000 square feet of school facilities in its jurisdiction. Like most districts in the U.S., the lighting for these facilities is exclusively provided by fluorescent, metal halide, and incandescent technology. In addition to paying almost $73,000 per year in unnecessary energy expense, the district was also paying an estimated $16,000 in annual maintenance costs to replace the lamps and ballasts associated with this dated technology.

Recognizing the need to eliminate these costs, Hamburg Schools hired Entegrity in March 2016 to convert 100% of its interior and exterior fixtures to LED. As an Entergy customer, the district was eligible to receive an estimated $107,400 from its electric utility as co-funding for the project. This allowed Hamburg Schools to finance the project on a short term with the knowledge that the annual energy and maintenance savings would exceed the payments. With a 20-year useful life, Entegrity’s LED solutions will literally generate millions in savings for Hamburg Schools!

Entegrity was selected for this project after an evaluation of several proposals from competing firms, and was hired to conduct the work through the TIPS/TAPS purchasing network.
